Geo-Frontiers 2011 is honored to host the annual GSI Conference (GRI-24).
ENHANCING SUSTAINABILITY USING GEOSYNTHETICS
The Geosynthetic Research Institute (the research arm of the Geosynthetic Institute) conferences have been theme oriented since their inception. Topics were selected by the membership and generally followed application areas that were established and in need of further investigation, or were emerging to the point where information was considered timely. This conference is somewhat different in that it encompasses all types of geosynthetics and all types of applications, each of which is viewed from the context of sustainability. In so doing, many of the papers contrast traditional solutions to geosynthetic solutions from both cost and carbon footprint perspectives.
The papers and their presentations will be subdivided into three categories with preliminary topics as follows:
